Community Services Grant Program
Funds for this grant program are provided by County Council of Beaufort County. Established in 2013, the Beaufort County Community Services Grants Program supports local non-profit human service organizations in enhancing residents' quality of life. All grant awards are contingent upon the availability of funding.
The FY25 Grant Program is now accepting applications Monday, June 10, 2024 through Friday, August 9, 2024. Applications submitted after Friday, August 9, 2024 will not be considered for funding.
Eligibility:
- Non-Profit Status: Applicants must be a registered non-profit organization with 501(c)(3) status.
- Mission Alignment: The organization’s mission and programs should align with the program's goal of improving quality of life for Beaufort County residents with an emphasis on enhancing the well-being and self-sufficiency of vulnerable or disadvantaged populations.
- Transparency: The use of a fiscal agent will not be allowed to ensure direct accountability and transparency. Only one application per organization will be accepted, identified by their Federal Tax Identification Number (EIN).
- Geographic Focus: The organization must serve Beaufort County residents. The entire grant award must be used exclusively for the benefit of Beaufort County residents.
- Past Performance: Positive track record with previous Community Services grants (if applicable), including compliance with reporting and performance requirements.
Timeline:
- Agencies have 60 days from the program's annual launch to submit their applications.
- After submissions close, staff review applications for eligibility and completeness.
- Proposals are evaluated by an independent panel of diverse community stakeholders and subject matter experts with no conflicts of interest.
- The review panel submits funding recommendations to County Council for consideration and approval.
- Applicants are notified of the decisions, and awardees receive agreements outlining the terms and conditions of the award.
Criteria:
- Financial Stability: Proof of financial stability and effective financial management, including recent financial statements and budgets.
- Program Impact: Demonstration of measurable impact and outcomes of the proposed project or program.
- Equity: Demonstrating of meaningful ways to advance equity and inclusivity.
- Capacity: Sufficient organizational capacity to implement the proposed project, including qualified staff and resources.
- Collaboration: Evidence of collaboration with other organizations and stakeholders.
Current Grant Season: FY25 (July 1, 2024 - June 30, 2025)

- Endowments or Scholarships
- Debt or Encumbrances
- Religious or Political Activities
- Legal Services
